That’s right- no more setting up websites loaded with affiliate links that nobody ever clicks on! No more masking affiliate links in your forum signatures trying to earn a buck here or there. The amount of money you make on Commission Junction will now all depend on you because you are the only one involved in the entire process! I probably use these techniques about 3 days per week, 2-3 hours a day and make about $300-$400 every day I put forth the effort to do this.
So, here we go:
What you’ve got to know is that to really do this right, you’re going to have to become a lot of different people in order to get your commissions. So, you’ll probably want to create a handful of gmail or yahoo mail accounts registered under different names and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be sure to be on a different IP when you visit the advertiser. I like to take the extra step over using a proxy and just go down to the local bookstore, library or Starbucks, sip a latte and do my business there while enjoying the atmosphere. I’m always sure to clean all my cookies, temp files, etc. using a free program called CCleaner- it’s a free program and it’s found at:
http://www.ccleaner.com
Another thing you’re going to have to suck up and do is order yourself some Visa gift cards. (Your gift cards MUST have either a Visa or Mastercard logo on it!)
To speed things up, go to http://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/prepaid/visa_gift_card.html and enter your zip code to see if there is a provider near you that you can just walk in and get one your hands in just a few minutes. Most shopping malls sell some sort of Visa or Mastercard gift card at their customer service desk. Stores like Walmart, Target, Walgreens and 7-11 also sell them by the checkout areas, but I think the minimum denomination you can purchase them in is like $25, but that’s okay- you’ll be able to spend the money how you want later- trust me. Just keep reading on…
I’ve found that if I go to my local shopping mall’s customer service desk, I can buy as many as I want for $2 each and I only have to put a minimum of $20 on each card. For the sake of this article, let’s say I bought 5 at one time at a price of $110 out of my pocket ($20 on each card + $2 service fee per card). What I do is get a permanent marker and number each card, let’s say 1-5. Then, I open 5 gmail accounts under some names I just make up.
Then, go to the website that’s listed on the front or back of the card and register the card. This is THE most important step, so keep track of each card individually. By registering the card you are assigning a name and address to the card. Register the card under the same name you made up for its corresponding gmail account. For example, Bob Dole, John Smith, Stephen Rollins, etc. etc. You can also make up any name you want. Then make up an address for each card. I usually just make up a street name and number, then Google the zip code to the first city that comes to mind. For example, Los Angeles California. So, I would register my card as follows:
Do this for each card you have and write down the name, address and email address you’ve associated with each card. So, if I bought 5 cards I will register 5 different names and addresses on the cards and for the sake of simplicity I will also open 5 new Gmail accounts, 1 for each card. Once registration is complete, you’re ready to start making some money!
The key to making money on CJ (Commission Junction) is to look for advertisers who give out money for referrals. That means they give you money even if the “other person” never spends a dime. Login to your CJ account and click on “Get Links”, then click “Advertiser List”. This is the easiest way to browse all advertisers. Look for the ones that are giving a decent amount of money for a “lead”. Here’s an example:
Here, you see that apartments.com is giving $10 for a lead, and only $7 for a sale! (haha) Why on earth would anyone try to push a sale which is so hard when all they have to do is provide a lead and get even more money? Poor schmucks. Anyway, click on the lead amount, and you’ll get a screen like this:
So, what this is saying is that if you send an email about 2 properties you’re “interested in”, they’ll give you $10! Easy enough, right?
Just as a quick side point, the advertisers that provide a decent amount for leads don’t show up all or mostly green in the “Network Earnings” graph for nothing! They make tons of people money- and from now on they’re going to make YOU money!
Go through the list of all advertisers and find the ones that pay pretty good for referrals. The reason that you needed to buy the Visa gift cards is because most of them will require you to signup for some sort of “trial period” or something like that and they will want you to provide your credit card (gift card) number, even though they will not charge you anything.
Once you found the advertisers you want to use, get the HTML for the referral links they offer and just copy the email link and send it in an email to each one of the email addresses you created for the gift card “owners”. When you’re at Starbucks sipping your latte, you can just check the email and click on the referral link through there.
Here’s some other advertisers I quickly found- all these screenshots were taken directly from CJ:
So, GoToMyPC is paying $10 for each person who signs up for a FREE trial period and includes their billing information, which would be the information you registered your gift card under. Do this with all 5 of your cards and you now have $50!
Keep going down the list:
With My1Voice, the customer just has to signup for a FREE trial and is not billed anything. Now, we’re at: $50 + $60 = $110
Let’s look at some more:
Register for a free trial at RealArcade and you receive $12/ea! That’s another $60! $110 + $60 = $170
And another:
Allright! $15 just for signing up for a free 14 day trial! That’s another $75 using the 5 cards I bought! $170 + $75 = $245
This advertiser is paying you $5 for each person who submits valid contact information through their registration form. The contact information is validated by checking it against the credit card number you provide, but which is not billed ANYTHING! That’s another $25! $245 + 25 = $270
Want another example? They’re very easy to find- there’s thousands of advertisers on CJ paying for leads!
Hmmm… Complete a FREE trial registration for $10 a pop? Sounds like another $50 for me! $270 + $50 = $320
This can go on and on and on forever. There are a TON of advertisers paying you money just to refer people to them. The purpose in purchasing the Visa or Mastercard gift cards is because many will require a valid credit card number even though you are not charged anything.
But what about the $110 you put up to purchase the 5 gift cards in the beginning? You’ve got to take a hit on the $2 service fee per card, but you still have $100 on the cards that you can go use at the grocery store or buy whatever you want with them. Just use them to buy something you would have already purchased without them anyway, so you’re not losing any money.
So, with your initial investment of $110, you’re out $10 from the initial service fees, but you’ve made $320 in just a matter of a few hours work! And that’s only with these few advertisers I’ve shown you! You can keep going down the list of advertisers forever and doing this with literally a hundred different advertisers with the same card. Then, go buy yourself some more cards, register them all under new names and go through the whole routine again and again and keep making hundreds of dollars per day of Commission Junction!
NOTE:
Be sure to do like I said and don’t all of a sudden swamp an advertiser with 30 leads in one day, then 2 weeks later swamp them with another 30 leads. They’re not THAT stupid. Also, like I said, do the signups from different IP’s and be sure to clear your cookies, temp files and web history after each signup. If you continue to do this properly it will keep working for you. I’ve been receiving $2,500+ checks from Commission Junction each month now for about 2 ½ years with no problems.

ALSO: I have received TONS of messages and emails from people asking me “how do I change my IP”? As mentioned, you can change locations. Also, you could go through a proxy site, although I personally don’t like doing that because they’re usually slow and many of the proxy sites out there don’t display all the web pages correctly. The other option is to install an IP changing software onto your computer, so you can stay at home and just keep changing your IP. Examples of these type of programs are found here:
